What is "Dare to Care"?
For many years, the Dare to Care offering has been an annual tradition at Calvary Church. It is our opportunity to show our gratitude for God’s goodness to us by giving money to those in need off of our shores. The recipients of this year’s offering are Lillian Solt at CEDCAS who provide "whole person" care to a large squatter community called Guararí who have fled from the conflict Nicaragua to Costa Rica and Suresh Vemulaplli's India Village Ministries which meets the physical and spiritual needs of needy widows and orphans in India.
Lillian Solt (pictured above on the right) founded CEDCAS, they do creative evangelism bringing people to Jesus through "whole person health care" by meeting their spiritual, physical, emotional and financial needs. The largest outreach programs is the Clinic, located in Los Lagos, Costa Rica. Calvary has supported Lillian Solt's ministry for many years through sending team down to work on various work projects. This year's Dare to Care offering will be used to:
- Buy uniforms, school supplies and shoes for children
- Stock up local food banks.
